We had a big family holiday at a campsite called Watermouth Cove, this camp site was right opposite Watermouth Castle and the Cove.
The campsite has 2 outdoor swimming pools one heated and one not, there is a small private beach which you can get to from the campsite and some Rocky caves to explore when the
tide is out, they also take dogs at this camp site.
There is a shop and a small club house at Watermouth cove
that provides some nightly entertainment from singers to fun nights. (The quiz night was not very entertaining for us with a poor score
of 4 out of 50)
Also by the campsite was a small harbour to explore, there is some fantastic coastline
to explore around Watermouth cove and the Ilfracombe area. From the headland at the campsite I was lucky enough to see Porpoise/Dolphins swimming past early in the morning.
There are several other coastal towns near by which are always worth a visit, Ilfracombe is just 20 minutes drive away and Woolacombe beach is not to far away and all of these are good places to visit.
We never had time to visit Watermouth castle but we had been there before and the kids found it well worth it and had a good time in the castle.
We also went to a place called the Milky Way which is a play farm for the Kids and Adults alike.
They had ferret racing, animal pens as well as Animal feeding, Bumpers cars,
Steam Railway line, Putting Green, Archery, Shooting and lots more to see and
do.
Not to far from here was a place called Clovelly which is a village Built on a steep path that leads to the beach, very picturesque with a few shops and a nice Pub at the bottom of the hill.
(You do have to pay to visit this place)
